The inspiration for this project came from a synthetic sponge, used in the washing of dishes. I observed that the sponges tangled web-like structure would allow me to set stones in the piece without the use of prongs. In addition, although the piece has a lot of holes, it is possible to express volume depending on the density of the structure just as drawing has high and low value.
